Bump In The Road

All journeys have bumps in the road, and mine is certainly no exception. It has been one of the toughest things to get through but I am starting to finally see the light at the end of a tunnel that I never thought I would get through.

Let's recap all that happened and I will explain away the 25 lbs I gained. (It's all about excuses right?)

  1. March- 1/2 marathon which resulted in a knee injury
  2. April- Easter and a 6 lb gain. Boo hoo I can't walk, nor run, so let's eat instead.
  3. May- I am pissed I just gained 6 lbs, screw it I am done counting calories. Let's try different food plans and see if MORE restrictive is better.
  4. June- Oh crap, what have I done? 25 lbs added on? Not able to fit in my shorts or regular pants? Ugh.
  5. July- Game time, start exercising and recording what I eat. Getting a game plan started for August.
So there we have it, run down of the months and the crap job I did with eating and not exercising. Which means enough blaming and self loathing, now it's time to pick myself up and keep go.

I have a vision, a desired goal to loose 30 lbs before my 25th birthday which is in 221 days. So, I need to get focused, get over these bumps in the road and start cruising again. I know the way and the path, I just need to get myself motivated to do it.

21 Day Fix

So tomorrow is the start of a new day for me!! I ordered the 21 day fix and it is officially here!!

To be honest, I was a little shocked at how small the containers are to be putting food in. I decided that I am going to go between two brackets on the food chart so that I am not eating the same amount every day. So I will be hitting between 1,500-1,799 on four days and 1,800-2,099 on three days.

I weighed in this morning as it is the beginning of the month and will not weigh in until the 15th or, quite possibly when I am finished with the 21 day fix.

Weight as of May 18th: 197 lbs
Weight as of June 2nd: 195 lbs

-2 lbs

I will take it, that is for sure. I am looking forward to this new challenge to see what I can do before I get ready to take Florida by storm at the end of the month. I have also figured out that I can get in a few rounds before my cousins wedding in October down in Georgia.

I finally feel like I am taking back control of my eating and exercising. Like I can really make an impact again on my eating because I do not want to yo-yo anymore. Some say losing weight is the easy part, the real challenge comes with maintaining.

I just want to put this out there.

Hello, my name is Ashley and I am a food addict.

But it stops here and tomorrow is a brand new start to a new day, a new challenge.

Re-motivated

I have been struggling the past few months to get re-motivated. I am not able to do any running because of bursitis in my knee so I gave up on exercise and my eating was shot. Just recently I realized that I need to not give up on myself and since I have come so far I need to stop and get back on the bandwagon. Since I have fallen off, I have gained 17 lbs. That is right, you read it correctly.

I had been looking on Pinterest on what I could do for motivation and I found a fit commitment pledge that you write down your goals with exercise and eating and then it ends with a pledge that you sign and a witness signs.

So I have signed my commitment and it started on Sunday. In my opinion it is the best decision I could have made. This week I have been more successful in my eating and exercising than I have been in the past two months.

How do you re-motivate yourself to get on the healthy eating bandwagon?
