How many of us use food for rewards? I DO!!
I love eating crap but tasty sugary food just because it gives me that sugar high or because it has been something I have denied myself in order to lose the weight and get closer to my goal. Or you know that euphoria feeling right when you eat it and then after the 16th bite you have realized you have eaten the whole carton of ice cream or you favorite chocolate cannolis.
Okay, maybe that is my dream foods but you get the idea. Food can be addictive and we turn to it for EVERYTHING. When we are emotional we go to food, when we can to celebrate we go to food, when we want to reward we go to food. The cycle continues on and food remains the constant in the whole equation.
I came across the above picture and it has totally made me rethink the whole food as a reward thing. I work hard and try to get to a weight that I feel healthy and happy at and then once a week when I go to reward myself with a cheat meal, I inevitably choose food that feeds the addiction that I am working so hard to break.
So how do I do it? Limiting myself. Allow myself a cheat meal but make it something that I have a little bit of but not an overwhelming amount. Something that I can control what comes in the house. I also decided I need to reward myself with non food rewards.
I just started getting back into exercising as one of my New Years Resolutions (which I know I will keep). I was fascinated by these Alex and Ani bangle bracelets that some of my friends have been wearing. I decided that every day I exercise, I will put $1.00 towards getting a bracelet. I just purchased my first one. I know I will hit my 28th day on February 3rd and I cannot wait to be able to wear my bracelet and start my collection.
My first one I wanted to be super meaningful, and not that a lot of them are not but this one I realized I needed it to be something I could look towards as strength moving forward and being in full swing with my weight loss goals. My first bracelet is called POSITIVE. It is one word written in all different languages and I think that is the one word I need right now to stay on the straight and narrow, to look at all the different beautiful things that life has to offer me.
How do you reward yourself? Do you reward yourself?

Weigh In Week 1 2015
So here it is week 1 of January 2015 has found us and the New Years Resolutions are going strong and everyone is happy.
I have reclaimed my eating and exercising. I am motivated more now than ever to get back to the person I was pre-March injury. I want to be stronger and better than I once was.
What steps am I taking? Well the 15 goals for this year but I have created an awesome support group that I once had. I have two friends on LoseIt! who are my buddies for the month. We all gained weight last year and now we are working on getting back to who we once were. I love having that support system, the people I can text to motivate me to work out and get myself moving. They are some fabulous ladies!
I also made a pact with two other beautiful ladies. I connected with two fellow bloggers to help each other with the help of a Google Folder shared between us. These ladies are Amy and Julie. Check out their blogs, they share some great stuff. We have a sheet for our food, a sheet for bragging among other uploads. I love having the extra accountability.
So for the record, I have exercised 9 days straight and feel best doing it in the morning than at night. I also have recorded everything that has passed my lips. I had 2 bad days but I am shrugging that off and continuing on..
